As many of you are now aware, you now need 2fa to enter use the site. But in the security announcement, it seemed like the main issue as hand was the abuse of resources specially (if its also to reduce scamming, then this suggestion isn't very useful). But if the goal is for the purpose of specifically preventing the leaking of resources, then my suggestion would be make 2fa required when editing a resource or trying to download a resource. That way new users can have an easy transition, for the most part people don't have to worry about 2fa, and it protects the community of resources. I would also recommend this extra 2fa not be required for users who already complete it for regular log in, but I don't know if thats possible.
