  • Image carousel file size being 2MB is a big yikes. I can't even upload some Minecraft screenshots, let alone renders. Having to resize them all is a pain; especially when you're uploading 10+ builds - it's like 50+ screenshots.
  • Why can't you type custom tags? Why is there a character limit and after that point you can't view more tags? It's completely unhelpful and basically means I can't use tags as there are tags for other categories which are higher up than things like "nether."
  • Why can you only pick 2 themes? I have builds which are packs of like 10+ builds of various themes so being limited to 2 is also frustrating.

It's inconvenient.
Not resize "compress" you can drag and drop all your photos in a compressor and its done in like 30 sec. Idk how much more convenient you want lol.

That's still inconvenient? I still have to go onto another website, upload all my images, and then download them just to post them on the image carousel.

I completely agree with everything mentioned here.

While image size is a significant concern to us due to our interest in ensuring speedy page load times for our users with less than exceptional internet, ideally, we should be able to handle compression on our end well enough to alleviate the limitation on our authors. I’ll add this to our development pipeline.

Mick Any idea why tags were limited to 3 characters each?

Given that 3 characters isn’t enough to do anything with, I’ve gone ahead and updated the limit to 10. We can potentially increase that limit even further after some discussion within the management team.

The two theme limit is something we discussed at length. Not having a limit means that users can select every theme if they wanted, even if not every theme applies, and it benefits them to do so because they’d appear in more filter results. However, having inaccurate filter results is a major frustration to buyers and detracts from attention that would otherwise go to relevant products. It is something that online marketplace platforms like eBay, Amazon and others all constantly fight to prevent. Manual moderation of filter data isn’t scalable and becomes impossible when we allow authors to update this data whenever they need to.

Limiting the theme selection to two also limits the ability to abuse by selecting non-applicable themes. The only downside is of course that those whose products would genuinely fall under multiple themes are no longer able to represent themselves accurately.

When a limit was being discussed Mick pointed out how we can increase it if necessary, but decreasing it if necessary is more difficult because those who have already abused their filter data will still maintain their false selections. Thus, we started with a low limit.

Polygon As an author with products that this concerns, I’m really interested in your take on how we should tackle this.

Yeah, in retrospect - preventing people from abusing the system is useful but surely this could be checked over by Resource Moderators if necessary? I don't think there's realistically a winning solution here.

The character limit is incredibly helpful, even having a longer / scrollable list with the 3 characters would be an alternative.

With images, even the regular vanilla screenshots won't upload which was the most frustrating part - so having an integrated compressor would be very nice.

And the icon cannot be changed too. (It's an issue for resources like plugins)

The actual design is more buildings-oriented.
