Here is a really good suggestion, unlike most of the other ones people have to say.

Right now on MCM we have a TON of problems with people posting resources,
- users post really lame useless resources such as a useless plugin
- users do not provide enough information about their resource on the 'Overview'
- users have abandoned their resource (being banned)
- users sometimes post resources for things that should not be resources
- users post resources in the wrong category
- users upload stolen or downloaded builds
- users upload pointless builds such as a one small basic house
- users use really bad titles such as just 'HUGE MAP' or 'CUSTOM PLUGIN'

MC-Market has a very poor resource section, and it is not attracting at all. I find more garbage than cool stuff, which is why we need to take care of it.

I think we should have staff manage the resources people post as right now it is poorly managed, when people post a resource it will await moderation from a resource manager and will be reviewed thoroughly by them. The resource manager would decide if it is a good resource to be added based on some guild-lines.

My suggested guild-lines for resource managers to follow would be:
- Title must be descriptive & overview must contain enough information to fully describe the resource.
- Banned user's resources will be deleted (as the resource will become abandoned)
- Resources are posted in the correct category
- Content is not stolen
- Things being posted are actually resources and not a pointless post

I was thinking any staff member can really take care of the resources if they really tried, but I was also thinking of there being a special person called the 'Resource Manager'.

And I understand right now moderators do take care of the resources, but they are doing a really poor job doing so.

Banned user's resources can still be useful even if the project has been abandoned.

Banned user's resources can still be useful even if the project has been abandoned.

Once a user is banned, he/she can not edit their content, no future updates & support, no deleting it themselves, and sometimes banned users post stolen content.

I know of a certain other website that has an account named 'InactiveResource' and if someone gets banned/abandons a resource this account gains ownership of it.

When I first saw the title I thought, "Another one of these staff related posts in attempt to get staff" however you have provided a sufficient amount of evidence and some valid points. I do agree that the resource section may need a bit of a "fixer upper". Finally, an actual useful suggestion that is actually displaying all the issues instead of just saying, "We need more staff".

Instead of complaining and asking for more staff ranks, why not just promote someone who could do a plenty fine job such as Justis ?

The reason being, there are decent resources out there for free by banned users and it would be stupid to limit what is available to the community. Lastly, I am strongly against this crap of "useless plugins" or "useless builds." I've never seen a plugin not really needed or a build that I couldn't use for something, no matter how small.

Maybe I was a bit harsh with 'useless' resources, but a good example of something useless would be a small basic house someone builds (because we all built hundreds of them ourselves in the game) People are not looking for a house to use on their server, they are looking for impressive spawns, or builds to show off. I kinda sorry for making it sound like 'useless' builds are ugly builds, but it is kinda true, thinking of the resource section like a market, people are not going to continue to look in there if most of the stuff isn't what they are looking for.

And for users posting things that are not resources, I am talking about when people post things like 'Selling my server (1 copy)' or something that should be a thread, because afterwords those kinds of resources turn into 'Deleted' or 'Removed' and become pointless...

I didn't mean a 'new rank' because Myimune's rank is 'Resource Moderator', but I feel like we are lacking moderation towards our resources, and more moderation should be put into them than what is already being put in.[DOUBLEPOST=1462634173][/DOUBLEPOST]

Not everyone can build a house, you see. If you were a server owner who wanted a house somewhere but had no money and couldn't build, it would help a lot. I understand about the copy thing as well.

I agree, there are plenty of people who can fill this spot.

If someone is banned on MCM they probably weren't looking to provide support anyways.

We already have a "resource manager". We call him a Resource Moderator and his name is Myiume. Moderators don't approve resources. They are all reviewed by Myiume. Personally, I've never liked this and when we first added the Resource Moderator rank, it was my intention to have at least two Resource Moderators. No, it's not because I felt that one might be inactive or what have you. I just don't like having only one person available to do a job on a forum. But that's just me.

A number of people have been complaining about resources not being reviewed in a timely fashion and that does bother me. However, I don't know enough of the facts myself to form an opinion on that particular issue.

Now, as for the resources section, I agree that some things need improvement, however, this mostly depends on you guys, the resource authors. You guys are the ones that create the content for the resources section, not us ("us" being MC-Market, in this case). It's up to you to upload resources of high quality. If you want to make a difference in the resources section, make your own resources and upload them.
