Just a quick idea I had, Not massively needed.
From previous experience I know that all resources a moderated while they are approved (This was around 5 hours before the new staff changes ect), I wondered before why isn't there a person to sort thru the resources and approve / check for any backdoors in them.

Like I said before this isn't something that is really needed but would be nice to have.

Edit: This would also be nice to make sure there is no stolen code in resources, Something I have found myself on MCM before.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Not sure how this would work out. I'd add a poll if I were you. :)

I like the idea and it has been discussed before as well. I don't believe we've completely turned down the possibility in our discussions.

Glad you agree, I also made a edit in the original post. (Basically saying this could also be a way to check for stolen code, As I'm sure if you ask anyone that's been here since verringer will agree that it was a issue.)

I love this suggestion but in my opinion, there shouldn't be new people assigned to doing this, rather let staff do it if they want for a small, minimal payraise and an extra tag under their names. You would get people who want to do the job and people who can work with others or on their own to deal with it. We all have different sets of skills and for example I could tell if a 3D model is just a .png file imported at different thicknesses as well as copyrighted and Morgan can tell wether a site is copied. Staff would only do what they're comfortable doing which makes it less likely that they'll feel forced to make a decision upon which they're uncertain.

People should receive an additional tag to or have their previous perms revoked. No matter if they are chat mods, mods, scam resolvers, they'll still be needed a their posts. If this isn't do-able or too confusing, no one should have a resource checker tag and just let those who are willing to do it, do it.

Ps. This is just my oppinion

For a free site, that's a lot of effort. I know Bukkit did it, but this is more of a marketplace than a community ran out of love site.

I don't think this site has many capable users that would do it for free, at least on a messed up 'marketplace' site. Probably just drama with 14 year olds acting like they know how to do something, make a database of paid add-ons and release them when they get ticked off, which is whenever their mom tells them to do the dishes.

If like a plugin has a force op feature in it and someone actually gets op on a server which it is running on, the owner of that server should report the plugin on its resource page.

I think this is a lot more efficient than having someone go thru them all.

I'm usually against a marketplace interfering with sales, but that's not a dim idea. Pretty logical and smart actually. Gratz on the first decent improvement to a suggestion I've seen.

Only problem is that some random guy now has op on that server and how would you know he is an op? Are you going to check the list every time you install a plugin?

Technically if they aren't getting paid, they aren't even staff just volunteers. The word staff means you are getting paid to work at an organization. Someone saying "staff don't get paid" makes no sense.
Language and definitions change, highly doubt you'll see many servers changing their unpaid 'staff' to 'volunteers'. They get paid depending on their work.

I've reported and have asked members multiple times to provide proof that they own the plugin they are selling/posting. I like this idea (*cough* I can become a resource staff member *cough*) Mick Ajdin
If they was going to implement this they would most likely go for someone that's a trusted dev around here.
