We don't want it, if you can't see that the community don't want it you are blind. If you don't listen to the community your doing us a dis-justice.

No one asked for this change to reputation we now have a reasonable way of disputing rep and thats all we needed legacy rep is the backbone behind a lot of peoples reputation.

A lot of people will lose a lot of rep for no reason other than it being 'old'

So I am pleeding to the staff; do the right thing cancel all changes to the reputation system give us our old reputation back and keep the new dispute reputation system

If you read my thread, you will see that it is for reasons completely unrelated to the age of the feedback: https://www.mc-market.org/posts/4293371/

The whole system that the feedback was authored under is corrupt.

But surely you can see that the consumer and customers don't want this change that's why your post has 15 disagrees.

I know that quite a few people who reacted to the post also didn’t read it, because some have already admitted to having not read it.
I also know that 15 people not agreeing with something doesn’t mean it’s not what’s best for the future of this platform.
I hope to reach out to the entire community, so that everyone is informed, knows why what’s being suggested is being suggested, and what they’re vote will mean for the future of MCM.

A lot of people, I expect, simply hear that their totals will decrease and immediately jump to protect that total, without considering the issue beyond that.
Ensuring that everyone’s considering the issue thoroughly is why I’m continuing to have this back and forth, and will continue to, until the very last available second.

1. Online marketplace (minor part in your life).
2. Numbers on a screen that go up one whenever you make a transaction.
3. There is an owner of this online marketplace for a reason. They can do what they feel helps it the most.

I understand your struggle with this matter, as I feel it too. However, you have to come at it with an open minded approach. Sooner rather than later we would have to make this switch anyways. Reputation without proof with a one sentence answer doesn't do much to prove you are trustworthy.

Back about a year ago we introduced some pretty radical changes to the way that we handle reputation. We made all reputation left by banned members be marked as uncounted in your reputation totals and disabled the reporting functionality to reduce abuse and targeted. The changes that we made were certainly controversial at the time, but looking back I'm a firm believer that the changes we made back then were the best that we could have made.

Our reputation system is very far from being perfect in its current state, and we fully recognise that. Since it's introduction we've changed many policies and spent countless hours developing new custom systems, such as disputing feedback.

At the moment we aren't planning to do any more development for our site until we can migrate to XF2. We're also not going to be making any changes to our policies surrounding reputation. Our system is stable at the moment, and making a change now when we're going to be redeveloping everything shortly isn't beneficial. Perhaps once we move to XF2 and have fixed all the bugs that come with that and have more time for some new development and to consider the impact that instituting new policies will result in.

Until then, I'll move this to denied. Once we migrate to XF2 if you feel that this is still relevant please create a new suggestion thread and we can look into it once again. Thank you to everyone for your support and criticism of our systems, it is definitely the best way for us to improve.

Thank you,
