"5.6 Do not sell/promote ebooks, methods, media encouraging black-hat/money making activities or other objectionable content."

Sure, preventing the sale of black-hat activity is perfectly fine and reasonable. But why ban the sales of ebooks/methods in general?

I think the rule should be revised to:
"5.6 Do not sell/promote ebooks, methods, money making activities, or other objectionable content that involve black-hat actions."

Rather then banning ebooks, methods, etc in general- target the black-hat side of it. There are tons of ebooks, methods, and money making activities that are perfectly legal, and I see no reason exclude them from MC-Market.

How could we accomplish this?
The first way I was thinking was having a dedicated team to reviewing the methods. (Such as Resource Moderators). They would look at the contents, and make sure it is legal, and no black-hat is involved. Though, with the backlog of moderation, I don't find this option viable at the time being.

The best alternative I can find is allowing only Premium users or higher to sell ebooks, methods, or money making activities. This would help prevent newly created accounts coming and selling some leaked guide that is obviously black hat.

TL;DR
allow ebooks, methods, money making activities, as long as they don't include black hat activities.

I don't think the problem of this whole method thing is the legality; I think it's the ability to be deceived and ripped off; simply because you don't know what you're getting.

It's easy to call something a method, but it's another to execute it without messing it up. A lot of the methods (legal or not) are difficult to do and while a "it's at your own risk" should be implied, it's simply not effective.

"Methods" are literally also only for profit - meaning if someone wants to resell something and ripoff customers further, they can do that without any restriction.

Like you said - resource submission wouldn't be viable either.

TL;DR, no, lol

that.

And I'm pretty sure the rule was only added after the Aschorren ebook scandal (xdddd) where people paid for what is just common sense.

I agree, whitehat methods should be allowed and if someone sells common sense or a poorly-made ebook, it should be up to the buyer to decide whether or not they trust the person the book is being bought from. Vouch copies also exist for a reason /shrug

disallowing the sale of ebooks is excluding a large amount of potential and legitimate sales, i,e like Landon's ebooks and guides. Banning an entire category over a few people's carelessness doesn't make much sense and instead, possibly make a wiki post on what to look for in an ebook and how to ensure that you're not getting beamed.

The same purpose of preventing illegal activity can go for almost anything:
"let's not sell accounts because they can be pulled"
"let's not sell builds because they can be copied"
etc etc

There have been plenty of other suggestions asking for the implementation of ebook and method sales that have been denied.

It is far too much regulation and moderation required for selling something on MCM that wouldn't be that popular to begin with.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
