Thanks to Doge snipers could be gone :') Back to getting usernames manually and having a chance at a name.

Yeah, in the shoutbox I suggested that captchas be added to name change. Marc said he'd ask the web team as he liked that idea. Hopefully this will now make sniping fair for everyone and we'll have an actual chance at getting good names.

You do know there are people who make specific programs to get around Captcha's?
There's not many out there with %80+ accuracy, but a few that can successfully guess a captcha %30-%80 of the time.

So if this does happen, then we'll have gone from...

1000 people being able to try to take it at the same time...
To 10 people trying to snipe it all at the same time...
To 1 person being able to crack the captcha almost every time...(with a sniper following behind so it can still get the acct quickly after the captcha verification.)

It may be better, might make it more fair. Or it will lock out anybody without the correct software or know-how from ever sniping an account again
