Yeah so the other day I got scammed whilst trading for a Rolex, ended up with a replica and not sure how much they go for, the watch is essentially a 1:1 replica, besides the movement which is japanese instead of swiss. Been searching online and on some notable replica forums prices vary from $200-$1,500 so was wondering what this one is worth.

A few details to note:
  • The watch basically looks authentic in terms of fonts, design and functionality.
  • Automatic movement (doesn't make a ticking noise, and the hand glides rather then ticks)
  • All black with metal chain link
  • Quite heavy
  • Bezel rotates
  • Crown works as a real one should (changing the time & date, as well as locking it into place)
  • Has all Rolex stamps, engraving where they should be with the right font (or close enough)
The watch is essentially indistinguishable from the real thing, and what I was told by the authorised rolex dealer was that the watch is essentially a 1:1 clone but instead of swiss movement it uses a japanese movement, but other then that to a normal person, it would seem like the real thing.

The price range you found online is quite broad, so I'd recommend looking for similar listings and seeing what they're going for. It's all about finding the right balance between quality and price. Just make sure to do your research and maybe connect with folks who know about replica watches – they might have more insights. My friend has got loans on Patek Philippe watches a few times, so I assume he's pretty good taste and knows places. So, I'll tell him to contact you.

Very low tier rep. Lower quality than those found on the Turkish street markets. Replica's that fetch a price tag over the 1000$ mark are always 'frankensteins'. This means they have been modded with genuine parts to increase reliability and mitigate the tells that that certain replica model may have. And it definitely won't be a Japanese movement. Even the top tier reps that are sold for 600$ out of the box are still a Chinese movement. This isn't to say Chinese movements are bad, notably Dandong factory are now capable of producing clone movements incredibly similar to Rolex and even boasting up to 90 hours of Power Reserve, beating the likes of Breitling, Omega and many other brands owned by the Swatch Group with an ETA derived movement. But yeah I am sorry to say that you would struggle to get more than 20$ for that.

The value can vary widely depending on the market and demand. Since it's a 1:1 replica with a Japanese movement, it might fetch a decent price, potentially towards the higher end of your range given its quality.
Also, I recently came across a Patek Philippe replica that was incredibly close to the original. It's impressive how replicas have advanced, offering such resemblance to luxury watches. If you're exploring options, replicas like these can provide a similar aesthetic without the hefty price tag. You might find more insights on pricing and options at replicapatekphilippe.io.
