I use a site to get old skin history when it doesn't show up on NameMC and I realized it's a good way to find a point where the account was active.

http://minecraft-skin-viewer.com/player/USERNAME/skins

This comes in handy when considering buying a recently migrated account because you know how active it was prior.

Examples:

http://minecraft-skin-viewer.com/player/ruby/skins Skin change on June 11 2015
http://minecraft-skin-viewer.com/player/7D/skins Skin change on October 29 2015
http://minecraft-skin-viewer.com/player/relax/skins Skin change on December 18 2014

Some things to note are if you see a bunch of Steve skins, it's because when the skin was cached, skin servers were down and not because it was changed. Also, the time of the skin change is not the point when the owner was last active but rather a point when they were active that is visible for us to see.

Why does it matter if an account is recent migrated
Just shows the likelyness of the Original Owner returning and potentially reclaiming the account. If it was recently active before migration it most likely was still in use but if the last change was a year ago+ it was either abandoned or just logged into rarely. Alongside how likely it is of getting locked.

Why does it matter if an account is recent migrated

Because the majority of the OGs/2chars that were recently migrated originate from someone who scraped a few million emails from the 2014 exploit and he takes the accounts by looking up the emails in leaks and migrates them. By using this method, you can get a rough idea of when the account was active so it doesn't get recovered if you buy it.

2014 exploit? Was there a Mojang database leak or something..?
