Rule against GLWS!

I'm sick and tired of people spamming perfectly good threads with GLWS! Just to get posts. I mean, sure, they're meant to simulate something good towards the OP seller, but the other day, I saw someone post a network with about 10k people on, and there were 3 pages of JUST "GLWS!" which is hella annoying. You post a server, and you look at your alerts hyped for it being a bid and it turns out it's a shitty GLWS!

I'd like to make a rule against shitposting. I know there is one, but more specifically the "GLWS" shit post.

GLWS is not meaningless, or low in quality. It is related to the thread. The only thing that it doesn't follow there is the one or two words, however that's not relevant 100% of the time.

I think it's pretty low quality. I dislike it when people say GLWS and that's it on my threads, it's super spammy and annoying

I kind of agree, however some people do actually mean it. For example, the server gruss is selling. I can see why someone would say GLWS. It's a really cool server, and it's sad to see it being sold to someone else. I've seen a lot of people saying "GLWS, find a good owner" and similar things. It can be annoying though

You relaize if "GLWS" does get outlawed, then something new like "Happy selling" would just come into play.

In a way, I agree. In another way, I think it should be allowed in the case of the user actually liking the item. They would also have to provide a reason, but I agree mainly

It's basically post/reaction farming, esp. for new users. I used to do it too (not anymore, I realize how stupid it can be). I honestly think it's ok if you give a reason WHY the user should have good luck will selling, instead of spamming it on every thread. You can't really just ban the phrase, it won't work out.

Technically, a statement that says no more than "GLWS" is counted as low quality posting, so report them if they say just that, if you wish. Not all staff will take action, but it may result in something eventually.
However, it can be seen to be a free bump, so people rarely report them in their own threads[DOUBLEPOST=1471279916][/DOUBLEPOST]

"GLWS" is 4 letters. It does not contribute anything to the thread, it's just a clever way of postfarming.

Yes, some people mean it well. Probably most people. But it does not stop that it's technically no more than postfarming. If nobody ever said "GLWS", very little would change.
All I'm saying here is people should learn to say more than just 4 easily copypastable letters.
If a GLWS is accompanied by a statement tailored to the product/service in the thread it's posted in, it's fine.
If it's nothing more than the 4 letters, it's postfarming, and I do believe we'll start treating it as such.

The rule won't be just no 'GLWS', it will be that you only reply to auction threads with bids. With the exception to ask questions about the item in the thread, or PM the seller. That way the thread isn't littered by members who have the need to reply to every thread they view.

Even if what Shattered said would not apply, that would still be considered postfarming if it wasn't tailored to the relevant thread.

If it's just 'GLWS', then sure. However more often than not I see 'GLWS' accompanied with other words, often users expressing their interest in a product. That is not low in quality.
