  1. Do not advertise any servers or websites in the shoutbox.
  2. Do not advertise any products or services in the shoutbox, unless the product or service is one that you are offering on MC-Market in a thread.
Remove these rules. They are preventing us from
A: linking hosting company's etc.
B: posting imgur links

Instead of removing these rules completely, a few days ago, I messaged bebo and rocket for a change.

I suggest changing the rules around to clarify the only links allowed to be advertised are ones directing to MCM threads, or personal websites; those should be acceptable, so long as it doesn't conflict with the rule regarding competing MCM copies..
After all, many many users have personal/business websites directly related to the services they provide on MCM, and shoutbox is a place to share thoughts and opinions with each other.
Already members are seeing the staff as being too strict when they're online.

The only other exceptions being if another member asks for the link, or if the link was obviously posted without the intention of advertising the site in question.

Everything else would be disallowed, and liable for removal and the user temp banned from shoutbox.

If you'd like me to make a suggestion thread on this, I'll do so.

Thanks for your time. ^-^

And then I gave an example.
I link obviously posted without the intention of advertising the site in question would be something like imgur/gyazo (pictures/screenshots) or ebay/amazon(physical items), stuff like that is meant to display content, not the site.
Whereas referral links, (which King was just banned for posting) are just the opposite.
Their soul purpose is advertising the website, and links to those websites would not be allowed.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this, if you don't mind.
Any suggestions for alterations are appreciated.

I was going to suggest this but I though why not remove them instead. I 110% agree

These rules will not be removed, as advertising isn't the purpose of the shoutbox. If you're posting a link with the intent to advertise a product or service that is offered outside of MC-Market, that's not allowed.

That being said, these rules do not prohibit you from sharing links at all. You are more than welcome to share Imgur links and you are even able to share links to hosting companies, etc., as long as the intention and purpose behind sharing those links is not to advertise a product or service.

Isn't hosting considered a service?
