I have qualifications. None of the hosting companies got back to me because it was mainly smaller ones not looking for staff. I am not begging either, I am simply volunteering my time away to help someone out.

I agree with Elcro, large hosts will not come here to contact you, if you want a job then you need to make the initiative and go out a pursue one. You should also note larger hosts have many requirements and age limits.

real companies won't hire free work, if OP wants to learn (I assume he does since he wants to volunteer time), he should buy a server and test many things himself.
