People who make threads saying so and so scammed them outside of the scam reports category is seriously annoying as fuck. Far more annoying than goodbye threads. Can't we have a rule that states you can only make a scam related thread INSIDE the scam reports category? Often these threads are just blatantly accusing someone with no proof at all.

I approve.
I would also like to disallow this in shoutbox.
It only incites drama.

I know a lot of people who do this claim that it's to "Make other users aware"..
But nothing good comes out of accusations.
If it's legitimate, they should be reported properly, and banned.

TellingMom True, it's kinda unfair to the people who are actual legit, but look at it this way, if the user is really scamming they deserve it.

OMG, never thought I'd see a suggestion to ADD to the rules. I must be dreaming.

Anyway, I've added a poll. If a majority agrees, I'll add it to the rules.

Especially from me, right? Since I think half the rules are bullshit and way to authoritative.

I would like to make a slight change to this suggestion. since there is a delay between making a scam report and it becoming visible, allow people to state that there is a scam report open on a certain user. or make the scam reports that have been submitted but are not yet being taken care of visible. Some way to make sure people can see a scam report is open on a user. That way, the rule can be more easily justified, since people will no longer feel the need to do a 'community alert'.
Then the only ones you have to take down are the ones that are shouting accusations.

Disagree. There should be no scammer discussions outside of the scam reports, period. It's just stupid an unnecessary. Half the time there is no evidence presented, and it's just to shame and try to ruin someone's reputation even if the scam is unproven.

How about a system that just shows a basic thing on someone's profile saying "there is a scam report open on this person". No way to slander, it just means people will be looking out for it.

Someone making a thread in the General Discussions to tell people he has been scammed is not going to stop someone else from being scammed. It's just a fucking annoyance, and these threads usually provide ZERO proof. A scam report is quite different, because "evidence" has to be presented. Personally I think the whole fucking scam system needs a complete overhaul. The rules, the system, and the people all contribute to a perfect environment for scamming. But that's another topic.

A flag on someones profile is fine, but a better solution would just be instant scam report posting in the scam report category. Why is a delay necessary?

So, just to clarify, the suggestion here is to prohibit the discussion of scamming and keep anything related to scamming to scam reports. Would that be correct?

What if they are new and don't know? And you sure as hell like to complain a lot.

Now if we can only get people to stop making stupid threads notifying the community they have X amount of post.

Keep in mind this isn't official until it's added in the rules.

That'll be next update.
