Just an idea but could we have it so when a scam report is opened once a scam resolver is assigned the reported "scammer" has their posting privileges removed so they can only post in the scam report section until the issue is either resolved or the member banned.

Either that or a big red 'THIS USER HAS A SCAM REPORT AGAINST THEM' at the top of their profile.

So basically, if I make a scam report on someone and do my best to keep it unresolved, I can keep someone from being able to access the rest of the site? I don't know how often you look at the scam report section, but there's a lot of scam reports open for no good reason. Not to mention that people are developing a habit of opening a scam report on people that open a scam report on them. Being limited to only the scam report section would be a SERIOUS problem then.

Another case of great in theory, horrible in practice.

This would not work at all - what if there was an impersonator who scammed you. You'd get a user falsely restricted for a while for something they couldn't do - this would lessen their profits from their services...

agreed. To elaborate as to why it won't work in practice: It becomes way too attractive to make scam reports over nothing, just to limit someone's business.
If I'm competing with someone else over a commission, I could use an alt to create a scam report on them to stop them getting it. the alt would likely be banned, but I'd get the commission because they were unable to reply fast enough.

I like your idea, but ye it won't work out. Simply because of the fake scam reports for example.

Well the trade with caution tag doesn't mean that they are a scammer, just that they could be.

I only read the biggest part of first page, and scrolled through this one but didn't see your post. But actually your idea might a really useful one in this case. Simply because it makes players aware that they might have to watch out with who they're dealing with, but on the other hand this can still ruin the business of someone.

True, but it's better than being completely locked out for a day due to a false report :)

Yup, but the main point of this suggestion (as I've read it) is to make the reported player pay attention to the scam reports due to him being reported. This could simply by making a message on the forums once you're reported, but this all also requires to add a specific member group.

But as I see it, a message which pops up every time you join the forums (as reported player) would be better.

It's reasonable to have a few days wait for people that are offline during that time, but if you're spotted online you should reply within 24H after you were spotted online or be banned. And yeah, we could do with at least 1 more scam report staff.
