Scammed :/

Hey guys most of you know me from the "iHax2PayTax" account. Well I was recently scammed when the middleman took the account and took the other guys money. He then deleted the mojang account. His name on skype was Dunk and his actual skype name is : rapeo_o
Please tell me if you know anything about him.

Never deal with ANYONE unless you know, or have heard that they are reputable. Second of all, use a trusted middleman. Never use a middleman that you've never heard of or who does not hold reputation anywhere.

Never deal with ANYONE unless you know, or have heard that they are reputable. Second of all, use a trusted middleman. Never use a middleman that you've never heard of or who does not hold reputation anywhere.

I've long felt that "middlemen" are a completely worthless and unnecessary step in trading. If the item is truly worth a lot (1k <), then get a legit real escrow company to help with the transaction, not some 12 y/o on these forums. Besides, a middleman does not stop a buyer or seller from scamming, it just unnecessarily convolutes the situation by passing any potential scamming onto the middleman. Why anyone would want to be put in that situation is beyond me... or like in your scenario the middleman did the scamming. It's all part of the price of doing business.

I do see the point in a middleman, but not one who isn't reputed. No one even knows this "iHateU" guy, on the other hand if you're using a MM such as SoldierAlex or Blaze, you can guarantee you're not going to get scammed. I was planning on making a MM service when I get more reputed, however, yes, your point of just passing the risk of scam onto the MM is very true. Which is why I've always had second thoughts, I've wanted to help the community however. ;/

You're missing the point. Sure using a reputable MM will ensure that they won't scam you, but what is stopping the MM from getting scammed? Why would anyone want to put them self in that unnecessary situation? The day one of these reputable MM are fucked over is the day they quit being a MM. It's just a stupid unnecessary step. I've made hundreds of transactions over the years and never been scammed in my life. It's all about being a cautious and defensive seller/buyer. Research who you're dealing with, make sure you have a safety net (ie: ability to recover asset or chargeback). Too many people out here seem like they were born to be victims.

All I'm saying is certain people feel more comfortable when they have someone who is very well reputed being the middle step. Especially when it comes to trades of $100+, people like Alex and Blaze have done countless trades, imo Alex's probably totalling easily over $10,000. So idk. It's just a reassurance to some people, I see your point, but mine still stands. cx
