Alright, i'm rather new to MCM (look at my rep) and I see alot of people being cautious about scammers so as a suggestion, this should be considered:

To comment in a shop thread you must have over like 50 -> 100 ratings or have purchased Premium+ (Or 10$ value or more).

To make a shop thread or a thread to sell stuff you must have 50 -> 100 ratings or premium+(Or 10$ value or more)

By this, the seller/buyer can look into their posts and rep to see if they're the type of person they wish to do business with.

If they do it through PM/Skype then that is at their own fault and should use the thread first.

It's a suggestion, do not respond with trash. It's up to the staff team to consider this

But, if you got a problem with being beneath 50 rep, get some rep or purchase (being the rank) for it (if this idea is used) because you have a problem with paying for an advantage but not paying a scammer to scam you?

Sort the priorities between paying for something to help a community or paying a scammer to scam you.

True point, and I agree but it does reduce the ability to scam because a scammer wouldn't want to spend 10$ when they could keep 10$ by not purchasing?
You could say they will chargeback, then bebosny could fight the chargeback, the scammer lost 10$ more than they would've lost anyways?

This is not going to be implemented. First off, as some people have said, reactions are in no way related to reputation or reliability. This works both ways. People with a lot of them are not necessarily reliable, and people that don't have a lot of them can still be reliable.

Apart from that, these requirements would strongly encourage both post and reaction farming, seriously decreasing the overall content quality of these forums.
if you want to not get scammed, educate yourself.

One black guy steals from someone and people assume all black guys are scammers and thiefs which is exactly what you're doing. I don't support discrimination so I am going to have to disagree.

1) Reactions is not equivalent to rep.
2) I'm a trustworthy seller/buyer, this is what I was on the forums for when I joined. I started buying at around 10 reactions. It would take me forever to get enough reactions, etc.

The only way to counter scammers is to deny them victims. If you don't want to get scammed, try doing some research into standard scamming methods in your field. For instance, look through the scam report archive (sort by the 'banned' tag), and see what methods people have used to scam. Then keep those in mind, and think up counters. That's how I wrote my guide against scamming

This is the internet, and this is a website that does not have the authority, resources or the responsibility to take serious action (though we try to within reasonable limits anyway). We have the scam reports to ban people that scam, but they can alt easily using a VPN, and farming some reactions and buying premium/supreme isn't going to stop most of those that will use a vpn in the first place.

This system would not only not work, it would stop a LOT of people from entering the site in the first place, effectively killing all new inflow of members. most new members then would constist of alting scammers that think it's worth their time, since half the people here will fall for the simplest of scams.


The current form of reputation we have is twofold.

1, vouches. This is a non-enforced system that works purely socially. People can get others to vouch for them being legit. Vouches from new members mean little, while vouches form veterans like myself or staffmembers in general have a lot of value.
Reputation from this system is subjective, and cannot be quantified in any way.

2, trade feedback/reputation. This is a system currently still being tested and not being used particularly much. It allows people to leave feedback which is positive, neutral or negative, with an explanation as to why. It is currently not particularly reliable due to false feedback being left, both positive and negative. Once the false feedback becomes less, it may become a more reliable system.

In my opinion, your own intelligence and judgement should be an effective way of steering clear of scammers; all these ideas of yours seem like they can do more harm than good. Even spending 10 minutes looking into someone your about to do business with can be enough to determine whether the guy is legit or not. Being vigilant and careful is really necessary for ANY kind of hiring/work you do, on MCM or anywhere.
