Hey everyone,

I wanted to bring up a topic that I believe could greatly improve our overall user experience across devices. It's the idea of having a system-wide option to schedule light mode and dark mode. While many of us have become accustomed to using dark mode for its visual appeal and reduced eye strain, I've found that having a scheduled switch between light and dark modes can offer even more benefits. Here are three key reasons why I think this would be a fantastic addition:

1. Personalized Adaptability: We all have unique preferences and requirements when it comes to our device usage. Some of us may prefer dark mode during the evening hours, while others might find light mode more comfortable during the day. By incorporating a scheduling feature into our system settings, we can effortlessly customize our devices to match our individual routines and preferences, ultimately enhancing our overall user experience.

2. Eye Health and Fatigue Reduction: Extended exposure to bright screens, especially during low-light conditions, can strain our eyes and lead to fatigue. With scheduled light and dark mode options, we can automatically adjust the display based on the time of day. This way, our devices will intelligently adapt to ambient lighting conditions, reducing eye strain and potentially alleviating fatigue. The ability to seamlessly switch between modes will promote healthier and more comfortable device usage for everyone.

3. Accessibility and Inclusivity: Making light mode and dark mode scheduling available at the system level would benefit a wide range of users, particularly those with visual impairments or sensitivity to light. For individuals who require specific contrast settings or who are more comfortable with a particular mode, having the ability to schedule these modes universally would greatly improve accessibility and inclusivity. It would empower users to adapt their devices to suit their unique needs without having to manually toggle settings for individual apps.

I believe that incorporating a scheduled light mode and dark mode feature at the system level would be a significant step forward in enhancing user experience and promoting accessibility for all. It's an idea that embraces customization, health-conscious design, and inclusivity.

What are your thoughts on this proposal? Do you see any potential challenges or additional benefits? I'd love to hear your opinions and insights!

I mean it'd a neat feature, I don't see much need for it, likely because I'm a dark theme only type of person.
