Curious what ya'll think about schools reopening in the fall. Well, if they do. Personally, I don't like school, also all the risks blah blah blah, so I'd prefer to keep it virtual.

Can't focus on schoolwork whilst in my home so I really do hope it's full-time. Gov has said that they're aiming for full-time but my school said around a month or so ago that it's most likely not gonna be. This lockdown is gonna be one of those things that we're all gonna look back on when reminiscing I'd like to believe.

Some states in Australia have already reopened schools and re-closed some as-necessary.

I thoroughly disagree with them being reopened as soon as they have been. The jump in cases in Victoria, Australia are a great example and America's aren't getting any lower.

Heres my view on it.

Its not possible to socially distance within the classroom. Its not, my sister who's a teacher went back today. Children have no understanding of social distancing. Any government which is saying all schools are will be opening full time in September are setting themselves unrealistic goals.

Though I agree it would be a free pass online *which I am all for*, I think it really depends on the school. A school with 200 in the middle of nowhere should not have the same standards as Miami right now.

Not really. Our Country is back to normal. We're at 11 active cases, with airports open for safe travel. We have thousands of tourists arriving every day and everything seems to be working fine. All shops, outlets, hotels, etc have re-opened and everyone is starting to go out. Exams are set to happen in September and school is set to re-open at the end of September. Cases don't seem to be increasing around here so it's safe to say that our country is doing quite well.

I understand your POV - but every country is different. The UK whilst cases are going down - they are just going to go back up again because they've started to ease restrictions.

Its not possible to socially distance within classrooms and I stand by that

it really depends, a lot of schools are putting in a system where they have freshman and seniors in school, and sophmores/juniors virtually. This way, there will be less students in the building, which leaves way more classrooms open, and by doing that, they can divide students into more classrooms and therefor socially distance.

Jesus man, honestly, I feel bad for schools. They’ve received little to no guidance from state/local governments over where I live.

Agreed honestly. It'd spread so easily in a school, which'd make it easier for students to spread to it adults and people outside of schools. Not to mention teachers could also be fucked.

We need to get on with our lives and return to normal. I’d say more people don’t want to go back to school simply because they never liked it or are too lazy to go back more so than spreading the virus which is honestly sad.

What makes me really sad is that they are putting the children at risk, adults who cares the children though. Schools aren't given enough funding nor guidance on this. And sending children back will just increase the spread.
