I do art for a living and have for a few years. Here's my two cents:

1. The head shape is off. I would practice drawing heads posed in different angles. Really focus on how the chin and forehead are drawn, since those are important focal points on the human face.
2. Add shading! Try the "multiply" layer mode. If you don't know what that is, I highly suggest you google it. Layering modes will save your art and will make it easier to add shading, highlights, and other fun effects to your drawing.
3. The detail to your hair is good so far! Try learning how to better shade/highlight hair. Most of my own stuff has a lot of highlights in it.
4. Maybe try some soft gradients? Great for lighting.

Your linework is very neat, so I really like that aspect about your drawing. However, you should try adding more variation in line thickness to convey a sense of depth and form. It helps bring out the shapes in your art.

I really do like your first one better. I think your proportions are much closer to how they should be than in your second one!

Practice makes perfect, so don't get discouraged! If you ever want some drawing help or lessons, you can always feel welcome to DM me and I can get you set up without any money necessary.

I did not draw my current profile picture, but I did draw these; so you know how my own style is (click to enlarge one):
