I would like there to be a Pre-Edit button, where if I click it, it will show me the thread/post it was on, before it was edited.
This just helps because sometimes I just want to know what the person said before so they cant hide anything etc.

This gets rid of the whole point of editing. Most of the time people edit for spelling errors / placeholders that just don't look professional in thread designs etc.
I dont see your point.
If I edited my post it will look the same, just that someone could see the un-edited version too.

So many disagrees.

Why not?
I am all for transparency.
There should be no reason why one would feel the ned to hide their previously unedited post.
We all make mistakes. If it's a spelling error, or a placeholder, who gives a dang?
Are you really so self conscious that you're worried about someone judging you over something so petty?
If that's the case, spend the extra time proof-reading and finishing before you hit "post".

I do think that having the ability to check for yourself what someone's last message was, before they edited it, would remove a lot of the suspicion people seem to have over what a message said before they edited.
Such as with a person's TOS on their business thread, or claims in a discussion that are later refuted by another member.
It may also help in seeing where people's train of thought was headed as they progressed their post, such as with suggestions.
Or as a service thread grows with the service itself, I'd love to be able to look back and see the progression.

Hiding information is rarely beneficial, in my experience.
I'd like for us to open ourselves up to each other, in as many ways as socially acceptable.

*makes post and puts something that isnt meant to be posted by accident*
*edits it out so no one can see it*
*gets fucked over because everyone can just see the post before it was edited*
*cries himself to sleep*

Honestly, the point of editing is so people don't see your mistakes. If you allow people to see them.. why the hell even have the edit button?
The point is to show people what you meant to say.
Or if the post becomes irrelevant, and needs changes made it it to become relevant again.

Allowing people to see the post's history won't change that.

The only thing it will remove is your ability to hide behind an edit to avoid the shame of a spelling error.
Which is a pretty pathetic reason for not having a feature, which could provide so many benefits, as I listed in my previous post.

Dont bring the communtiy into this, I hate when people do that. By saying that, you are also saying, I disagree because everyone else is.
Also, your logic is flawed too, that "makes post and puts something that isnt meant to be posted by accident" only happens, idk, never?
Why would you "accidently" post something you didnt mean to, I mean like who does that? Personally, thats never happened to me.

Also, you are making it seem as if you edited out some secret agency stuff, which in reality is just a typo or something, and you are scammer, you shouldnt have much to hide if you edit a thread.
Also, you are making it seem as if everyone who will ever click on a thread will click that button, but in reality, I would only use it for when someone posts something and when you click it it says "sold", "completed" etc.
And I would just like to know what they were selling or trying to sell. Again, unless you are a scammer you shouldnt have anything to hide.

I like the idea but I disagreed. It could be useful and I would personally like to see what people said before they edited their post but people also edit their post because they said something that they shouldn't have said such as personal information.

Example: User 1 says User 2 lives in X.
User 2 PMs User 1 to get it removed.

I also see it as a problem when staff edit inappropriate messages. Sometimes messages from users have useful content in them but one part is against the rules and staff members usually edit it out and hand out a warning. These unallowed things should not be seen by others.

My last and final issue is that (unless you can find an already made one) it would have to be custom coded and this is not a feature wanted to by everyone as the disagree:agree ratio shows. I don't think BeBosny would spend money on an addon that most of the community currently does not like.
