About us

We are a professional software-development organization looking for talented software engineers with experience in Bukkit and minigame development to join our team.

We are looking for team members that have a desire to be part of a fast-moving, dynamic project run by experienced professionals. We are offering a professional atmosphere, steady work, consistent payment, and clear expectations. By that same token, we will have high but realistic expectations and expect professionalism, reliability, and consistency. Our listed salaries are a starting point, and if you prove yourself, I can personally guarantee significant opportunities for advancement.

This is a team that cares about quality. We place a heavy emphasis on good design, clear documentation, and proven testing methodologies. We are not looking for quick-and-dirty code.

What we are looking for

We are currently looking to fill two positions.
  1. Java Engineer: $3,000/month. Minimum 2 years of professional experience or equivalent in software engineering.
  2. Senior Java Engineer: $5,000/month. Minimum 3-4 years of professional experience in software engineering, a university-level degree in Computer Science, or a sufficient combination of formal education and experience.

These positions and their pay are based on a full-time commitment. If you meet these requirements but cannot work entirely full time, please contact me and we can discuss it. We are not interested in contracting freelancers or hiring anyone who cannot consistently be available for at least 20-25 hours/week.

Even more qualified than this? Definitely get in contact with me and we can discuss opportunities for you.

Duties
  • Working with a team to create original minigames and other Minecraft-server content in Java.
  • Maintaining an existing codebase and updating portions of it to conform to more stringent standards.
  • Taking clear, complete designs and implementing, testing, and releasing them quickly and efficiently.

Desired skills
  • Experience in Minecraft minigame development.
  • Experience with Spigot/CraftBukkit internals and packet manipulation.
  • Experience with SQL and redis.
  • Experience with git and maven.
  • Experience with concurrent programming.
  • Ability to estimate accurately and deliver on time.
  • Comfort with learning new technologies and working with an existing codebase.
  • Familiarity with test-driven development methodology.

I recommend adding "Java certified" as a requirement for the "Java Engineer" position. Most people on this forum are decent at memorizing methods and objects, but lack the understanding of class design, syntax, and language basics which is what that test focuses on.

I think that is good insight, and I appreciate it. However, plenty of people just might not have taken the test. I know we have some amazingly skilled Java engineers already who have not. Regardless, we will not be hiring anybody without seeing examples of their work and looking in greater depth to make sure they know what they are doing, so I am not too worried about it.

Ah, looks nice! Wish I could apply although I don't have quite that much experience. Good luck! What server is this?
