You're correct, however it is a business. The two terms are misused and misinterpreted often.

They are not quite the same thing as far as my busines studies taught me. A company is a business, however a business is not necessarily a company.

I should also mention I didn't retain a lot of correct information from my business studies, but a business dictionary online seems to hint at the same thing with a quick skimread.

A business is any individual or group that sells a good or service, a business doesn't need to be a registered company. However, to be a company you must be registered as a Sole Proprietorship, LLC, Partnership, Corporation, etc.
