I know this was suggested in 2016 but I'm going to post it anyways.

Ok so I see many members pull exit scams just to get out of the community. For example, "bobmcm" is very reputable but he's been inactive. He wants to leave mcmarket forever and not be able to use the site again. So he scams an innocent person out of a loan or something. Later, "bobmcm" gets banned for scamming, which was his goal. Now he never gets to join the site again.

To prevent this, we should have a way to self ban, and if a user wants to come back they can create a support ticket.

Can you stop making shit suggestions? You’re literally asking us to rename “Disabling Accounts” to “Self-Ban”. You can disable your account by making a support ticket. Can you please do like a minute of research before you start making suggestions like this? You tend to make these kinds of suggestions a lot.

It won't stop all scams, but it may stop a few exit scams here and there.

Exit scamming isn't just about leaving the site... some people deliberately gain a bit of rep and then scam, not just because they want to leave but because it's quick money.

Also they can just come back under a completely different alias by resetting their IP/good VPN/VPS or whatever you wanna use and start all over.

If you think getting unbanned the scammers will make this site more secure go over, Cause you're saying that "You want those reputable members to come back who once scammed someone, The same thing they'll do again"

I've been on this site for almost a month, I've seen a lot of Scammers here who tried but failed and people who've actually scammed, If you want to get reputable members unbanned, they'll be able to scam again with their rep and stuff.

No, what I mean is someone who wants to leave, they want to get banned, so if there's a self ban, they can ban themself rather than a scamming and a staff member banning them. No scammer should ever come back to this site.

As others have said, we already allow others to disable their accounts.

It seems like you made this suggestion because you have the urge to exit scam in the near future so you want to stop yourself from doing it. If that is true, and you made this suggestion so you can ban yourself so you won't scam, you can just create a support ticket asking a staff member do disable your account. (They will)

Anyway... There are numerous things wrong with this. If you want to scam someone, you will.

Do you honestly think if there is a "Self-Ban" button, it will reduce the amount of future scammers? It won't, scammers will scam. If they have second thoughts about scamming, and thinking "Hey, maybe I shouldn't do this", then they most likely won't do it, and they will want to keep there account/s.

"bobmcm" won't ban himself because he might be planning on exit scamming, or having the thought of it.

If you put it that way, you might as well throw people in jail for wanting to kill someone, or wanting to rape someone without actually doing it.

Don't just randomly accuse someone for trying to exit scam
