Good day people. I'd like to selfhost a network. We get about 25 players average a day and sometimes 40+. My consern is how can I protect myself against DDOS attacks? Tcp Shield is not an option because they dont have local servers in my country. Also what internet speeds would you suggest? Minimum up and down?

Edit: And how much data will be used? (if I can get a cheaper capped package than uncapped)

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Cloudflare would mitigate for you. I would be more concerned about people attempting to break into your box. DDoS'ing shouldn't be your first worry.

I would agree with this. Cloudflare does protect you. Greatly!
But I have self hosted before and owned 5 Different Dedicated machines. I did invest in a professional Firewall. They are FAIRLY Expencive, and really hard to use if you dont know pure command line. That would be your best bet if you want extra protection.

Would they be able to get the machine's ip if I only use a host for the bungeecord?
Terrible idea. They will be able to spoof the proxy since your main servers, Hub, Survival, etc, would need to be public so that the bungeecord host can see the servers. A hacked client can spoof the proxy to gain OP or a permission plugin's * perm to grief everything. Always host on the same system, even if I means exposing your main IP address.

naah :cap: you cant spoof OP from an ip addy what?
No, from an external server with bungeecord set to true, and online mode set to false. It's possible with hacked clients. Hence why I said, make sure the servers on the local system, all of them, not the bungeecord on a host pointing to LOCALPUBLICIP: PORT
