Server Copyright Issue

Basically, I am the owner of this server called Sacred Network. We have been around for around a year plus and recently changed our gamemode to custom enchants factions.

Recently, this guy name NovaPrince (who has also a spigot account) came onto my server and copyrighted almost every single detail we had excluding the builds. He even used the name Sacred Core for his server. Isn't that a tad bid suspicious. After making his server, he came onto my server and said I was the previous owner of Sacred Network and I sold this server to him (aka me). When I asked him what hosting did I use? He answered it wrongly.

Basically I'm not happy with these people trying to rip off my players and copyrighting my server idea. What can I do to put an end to this? Thanks

ah, there's the problem. you said he "copyrighted" something. since that's a verb, most people here thought you meant he claimed that he had copyright. but what you mean is that he stole your server files and thus broke your copyright, correct?

For the builds, he probably worlddownloaded them. however, it's hard to get a proper legal claim to them since they're a gray area (are they minecraft code or not? legal systems won't be sure either way)
If you have any fully-custom plugins they stole, you may be able to put a claim on that. Same for custom art and website code.

I'm assuming you're 15 or younger. If you want to actually take some sort of legal action you have to register it as a copyright, and it'd be rather hard to copyright a minecraft server itself.

normally there's a way, but minecraft servers are very much a gray area, considering that half of them don't even follow the EULA.

I wouldn't worry about what people say when it comes to servers. I had something similar to this happen on my old server and what did I do? I threw the user in a glass box in front of my playerbase and burned him alive whilst beating him with a stick.
