I was thinking of making a server designer, basically you would pick the parts and specs then I would build the server and ship it to the client. What do you think of this?

Yeah but if people could design there own server, and have it sent to them without having to go thru ebay wouldnt that be better? To be able to choose everything

What makes you different to ebay because ebay has seller protection if parts break/not functional.

Why would anyone want a super specific setup for a server? It seems like you'd just pick the amount of RAM you'd need, choose an appropriate CPU, and then choose the cheapest option for everything else.

It's not like switching the RAM brand or Mobo has much of an impact on performance. Most people just want one that fits their needs, and don't care if a different CPU could give them a 2% performance boots at the same cost.

If someone does want to go through the effort of choosing their own parts, they'll probably assemble it themselves anyway.
