I have owned a server named 'DeniedPvP' and we had a player base of around 20 players. Sadly, the old owner took our domain away because we forgot he still had access to it and we lost our players forcing us to close. I enjoyed owning the server and have been missing it since, so I have decided to start up a new server! We can discuss the amount you will be paid over skype (yes you will be payed). Maybe "trusted" websites? I'm not too active on MC Market but I am on the spigot forums and I'm trusted there so it could go either way.
