Hi everyone!

I am not the best at Discord, learning and fumbling my way around with this...I thought it best to just ask my question here. My apologies if its a dumb question - maybe I just need more coffee :p

My server currently is on plan 2 with 8/14 boosts. I am just learning the community features so bare with me please.

I am wondering - is there a way to track player nitro boosters on a server? what method do other servers have? I suppose I can make my own spreadsheet to track it, but I thought I would ask first to see what other servers do?

If you give a rewards for nitro boosting (say a special crate key or something?), then after a bit the person takes away that boost or removes it, or I guess - does it expire? but then boosts again later to get another reward - well you can't do that?

Also, then if ppl remove boosts or boosts expire, we will go backwards in the perks right? How do you promote the advancement of this?

Do you other server owners do anything about this? also, what do you reward your players for boosting? (if you do)

tia for your feedback and assistance

Hiya,

Typically, when a user boosts a Discord server they are given the "Booster Role", "Nitro Booster" or something of that sort. This allows for the owner of a server to sort members by role, to see how many Nitro boosters there are.

If somebody removes their boost from the server causing your server to not meet the required amount for a level, I believe it is 3 days that you have before perks are lost. (Correct me if I am wrong.)

If you're looking to increase the number of boosts your server has, offer some unique/interesting perks.

Is it not possible to give one reward per account that boosts?

Hi, well that's part of what I am asking. Like, I can make a spreadsheet to keep track. I have one player that boosted, then was a non booster, I thought it was just me, then she boosted again, got the rewards and tag etc, but now what's to stop that happening again?

Currently I do give a key reward to a special Nitro booster crate I have. I do this manually, so if she posts another boost, I won't give her the key again since she removed the first ones, you know what I mean? I was just wondering if there was something else out there to track it? or well was wondering how other server owners keep track of all this?

Hi Patrick, thanks for the feedback! I didn't know that about that three days - so in that time do server owners scramble to get more boosts? what do they do? ask players? join booster services? I don't want my server filled up with random trolls either though. *sighs*

We do have the role being added in our discord - that is auto. I just happened to see this player again in our discord and she normally has the role, but now doesn't so that got me thinking of all this. She previously did it but I thought it was my inexperience so I wasn't sure. Like I mentioned above, I do offer a special Nitro Crate - the key I give out manually, so if this player does this again I will say to her hey you removed your nitro twice, this is the third time no rewards for you since you keep removing it?

Is this a thing that people do to get more rewards? gosh ppl try anything.

Having been out of the MC niche for a while, I can only slightly remember what I went off. A user would be required to connect an MC account name to their Discord, through your own means ofc, and once they'd boosted twice, they'd be ineligible for any further rewards for that map/season.

This is very uncommon amongst servers who offer rewards for Nitroboosting. Nitroboosting your Discord costs the booster money every month. It's not a one-time fee. Therefore, Owners tend to give nitro rewards monthly. It is possible to connect Discord and Minecraft together. That way, rewards can be automatic. For example, you can set it up where if the Discord user has the "Nitro Booster" role (or whatever you call it) they have access to /kit nitro in-game. This kit could have a 30-day cooldown since Nitros and boosts renew monthly automatically.

We do have the role being added in our discord - that is auto. I wouldn't turn her away from her reward again. The incentive to boost for the 2nd month is that nitro crate again. If it's super OP right now, change it so it's not that OP and start giving your nitro boosters their rewards monthly.

Begging or scrambling for boosts isn't really the best idea. People usually just get annoyed and don't end up boosting. Boosting services are generally against Discords TOS. Without a huge Discord community or a lot of money to spend monthly, you have to make do without all the benefits tier 2 and tier 3 nitro boosting gives you. It sucks but... it's reality. Just be glad tier 3 isn't 50 boosts anymore.

I hoped this all helped! I've been with Discord since 2015 when they launched and managed multiple communities since then. I love every second of it and soak up all the information I can.
