Hello all,

I'm in the process of setting up a network and was wondering how to increase server performance from a management perspective.

One question I had in mind was:

Do most servers remove intensive plugins (eg. WorldEdit) after they have done all they need with it? Like after they have pasted their spawn and everything, do they remove the plugins that are no longer need to increase performance?

I understand the higher-end servers have custom plugins but this is not any of my concern at the moment.

Any help is appreciated!

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

If you aren't using them, why would you let them sit there and eat up your resources?

What server are you running on and some servers just unload the plugins they don't use with some type of plugin manager.

For the longest time, I've considered this a core plugin and never occurred to me that I could probably remove it once I'm "finished" with it.

I'm curious if this is a common strategy among server owners.

I have 16gb on a dedicated server.

And how much are you currently using?
Hub - 2gb
Survival - 2gb
Prison - 2gb
SkyBlock - 2gb
Creative - 2gb
SkyWars - 1gb
Survival Games - 1gb

I am by no means pushing my server to it's limit, I'm certain my server is stable, I would just some tips on free up extra ram and increasing performance.

I'm not sure what your question is but unloading plugins I have never thought of, I definitely try this. Thanks! :)

This answer is undetermined, but I plan to invest in advertising.

Zyr, maybe not have so many game modes, as of yet. you will need to recruit a lot of staff.
You will have a big staff team and a small player basis. Trust me start on 1 - 2 game modes and try your hardest on them, then work on another

I've been at this project solo for a few months now but I am pretty confident in my network's quality. Not one gamemode has been neglected (except maybe SkyWars/Survival Games, they are new additions and haven't been focused on yet)

My network did use to run some time back in 2015 (30 players max, 10 average). It wasn't huge but the community was awesome!

I will definitely consider removing some servers (for now) until I'm ready for new gamemodes, thanks for the tip!

I don't think so. When I removed world edit it removed all my regions in world guard, unless there is an option to stop it doing this but I don't think there is.
Oh! I'm glad I didn't do anything irrational yet, thanks for the heads up!

I had the same thoughts when I ran my server. However, I had to keep a couple in, regardless if I used them or not, because of other plugin dependencies.
