Hello,

For a little while I have wanted to offer free website and mc server hosting and I know I need to buy a server, but I don't know anything else xD

So what I am asking you guys for, is a guide of what to buy and how to install it and if you are wondering what you get in return, well, a free server?

So I was thinking of the classic WHMCS + Multicraft set-up but I have no clue how to set any of it up.

I'm not going to say "don't start a company", but you should really be knowledgeable with the resources you'll be using. TIP: Mess around with them on a VPS or something and make sure you know the "ins and outs" before launching a company.

I was not planning on starting a company, just unofficially. Don't need a company do I?

I must have misinterpreted your post. Anyway, I don't think you technically need to be registered to provide MC hosting (someone will correct me if I'm wrong). Obviously if you earn over a certain amount, you'll need to pay taxes then on your income.
