The Shattered Realms — Hytale MMORPG-Style World Project
To start I am not in a time rush to get people on board, I'm throwing this out there if there are anyone who would want to join a project like this and see what we can create together. I don't expect this to be something you work on 15+hours a week unless you want to. This is something I am slowly chipping away at as technology grows so I have a stack and am ready to move quickly. I have been working 15+hours a week on for the past 6 months or so on and off. I care about the systems we make as much as the server itself.
The Shattered Realms — Hytale MMORPG-Style World Project
I am working on The Shattered Realms, a large-scale MMORPG-style Hytale server project focused on exploration, regional identity, node progression, guilds, world quests, and player-driven development.The project is still early, and I am not rushing to recruit a large team. I am mainly looking for people who are interested in helping shape the foundation of the world before it becomes too large.
Project Direction
The goal is to build a world that grows over time instead of trying to finish everything before launch.The server would start with a smaller group of playable regions, then expand as players complete major world objectives, unlock systems, restore connections between regions, and push the world story forward.
The world is planned around:
- Regional towns and settlements
- Node-based progression
- Guilds and factions
- World quests
- Resource control
- PvP-focused regions
- Town-focused regions
- Player-influenced expansion
- New zones opening over time
Current Progress
I have been building internal systems to help support the project, including:- A lore and worldbuilding system for organizing regions, guilds, questlines, and templates
- A Blockbench / model generation workflow for creating and iterating on simple assets
- A texture and visual reference workflow
- Documentation and plugin planning tools
- Early planning for systems related to nodes, regions, quests, models, and world structure
What I Am Looking For
I am looking for creative and technical people who may want to help build the world with me.The biggest need right now is not just more content. I need people who can review, refine, and improve ideas so the world feels intentional, playable, and coherent.

AI Usage
This is an AI-assisted project, but the goal is not to flood the world with generic AI content.I am using AI tools to help organize lore, generate structured drafts, plan systems, create baseline assets, and speed up repetitive work. Human review and creative judgment are still the most important part of the process.
I want AI to be used as a production tool, not as a replacement for taste, design, or quality control.
Current Stage
The project is currently in an early systems-building and world-design phase.Main focus areas are:
- Building the first group of regions
- Improving lore and quest documentation
- Improving the model and texture workflow
- Planning plugin systems
- Creating better standards for world content
- Finding people who want to help shape the foundation

Future percentage share or revenue split would depend on skill level, time invested, consistency, and the value of the work being contributed. Developers and people contributing high-impact technical systems would generally receive larger shares than general builders or lighter contributors.
