Tryna start my first dropshipping store, anyone have experience with this and can provide helpful tips?

I don't plan on using Facebook ADs (Takes way too much time and effort for them to actually work in the long run not a good way to advertise your FIRST store)

I plan on using Instagram ADs and using Instagram Influencers.

Also note I don't want to say the niche or product I plan to make my store around.

Thank you, I understand a lot of dropshipping brands exist already, I have a pretty unique niche haven't seen many people use the idea.

I will keep this thread to show my progress all the way until my first month of profits or losses, hopefully profits aha but I am willing to use this as a learning experience and will take my losses if I have to.[DOUBLEPOST=1564375447][/DOUBLEPOST]Also for anyone getting into dropshipping, I recommend to not trust most of the youtubers I have bought a few courses and they all generally teach the same thing. These youtubers who say they make $50k in a month is not so true they might have $50k in sales but they don't keep the 50k think about AD costs and Shipping cost, Product cost, and all the extra expenses that come with it like commission rates.

Just a lil tip for everyone trying to get into it

I'm sorry but you're really stupid if you need to pay someone to tell you to buy something for cheap and sell it at a mark up.[DOUBLEPOST=1564678749][/DOUBLEPOST]A rule of thumb is to avoid stuff that is "so profitable that I need to make it into a ebook and teach you how". If it was so profitable why would you waste your time selling ebooks for $50 when you could be making the $50,000 a month you promised? There's no such thing as an easy way to make huge profit, either figure shit out on your own or don't do it at all.

It's not an E-Book first off. Secondly, thats not what they teach you, they teach you how to find winning products and how to advertise your ADs right with Facebook and instagram. They also give much more, and its not $50? they cost hundreds of dollars to take a course they give 1on1 help in most cases. I do my research before I buy something. so maybe you should do yours before you come and call me stupid

Went through this and used around 350$ total in ads. I used instagram influencers with about $200 that I paid for them. ZERO purchases.

However, on my facebook ads I managed to make roughly 150$ in sales (about 120$ profit) in about a 2 week timespan.

Facebook ads are the way to go for sure but you have to make your Facebook page professional and neat and also TEST AND TEST with the targeting. When you hit that sweet spot, you're golden for a couple of weeks and then you try and find another sweet spot in targeting and so on. It's not hard, but you have to be willing to lose your money. Maybe you won't even make any sales within a month or two, but you're clearly doing something wrong.

Make your store professional, make sure everything is set up correctly, don't make your store look very stuffed up with apps running, and just keep it simple and straight up.

And if you do use instagram influencers, MAKE SURE you check the type of followers they have (most niche instagram pages are bots/from India), and I learned this from experience.

To this day, I've decided to cut my losses (about 150-200$) and decided to discontinue due to college coming up in about 2 weeks and I have no money.

I'm currently being mentored by someone who is making a 5 figure a day income and he is teaching me all the little things I need to learn. You don't need to pay for a mentor, there's plenty of youtube videos out there that will teach you exactly what your mentor is teaching you, but for free. And goodluck to you too!

Of course and I have watched many and many videos and been taking pages of notes on how to perfect a formula for dropshipping. He is doing it for free, he wants to use my shop as a Case Study
