"Every man's life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another."
~Ernest Hemingway
Quote from md_5:
"In the years which SpigotMC has been around many members of the community have had the pleasure of being able to share significant moments of their lives with all of their online family around the world. We have all taken great joy in witnessing everything from births and marriages to graduations, first cars and new pets. We have also less frequently taken solace in the loss of friends, family, relationships and property.
Today however we mourn the loss of one of our own, Shortninja or better known to his friends as Gavin. Gavin was an active member of the community for more than two years and became well known for both his popular Staff+ plugin and also the freelance work which he did for many servers. His commitment and passion for this community is shown in that he last logged in on the day of his death. Minecraft and programming were a key component of Gavin’s life, but he also had diverse interests in art and history at school, and was a talented musician who played the piano, guitar and bass.
Only 17 when he passed away, Gavin leaves behind his parents, siblings, extended family, and of course his four dogs. As we offer our condolences together, his family suggests that a meaningful way for you to honour his memory would be to do something nice for someone. We would also like to invite you to write your own wishes in this thread or on his profile and we will ensure they are passed on appropriately - Minecraft was a big part of life and we hope to honour that together.

It's always sad to see someone go, especially when they've made such large contributions to communities, like this one. I know ShortNinja was an incredible developer and he was loved by many. He wasn't in it for the money either, he was doing it to solve a problem and help others. Like he did, I encourage you to give back to the community as well, whether it be creating plugins, providing tutorials to the community, or offering any other service.
For more information on how he died, you can find a post here: http://www.x95radio.com/2017/02/09/centralia-teen-struck-and-killed-after-running-into-traffic/
Salvific worked with him on and off for over a year. He was given an idea that Gavin spoke about constantly in the stance of business. He always blamed it on himself that this project never got completed. Salvific is working on this project and idea which is going to be sold and all proceeds and profit will be sent to help Gavin's family. If you want a part in helping this become a reality please contact Salvific. From the bottom of MC-Outlet Development Team's heart, all developers from the team give their wishes and prayers for Gavin's family. We know Gavin is now in a better place.
May ShortNinja Rest In Peace.
