I've never had a side banner, but even buying a sticky thread in the builds section has made my Sellfy shop go from 100-200 views to around 1000 views per month (1200 this month). I've also made the investment back multiple times. So I daresay a sidebar ad for a website will be worth it, depending ofc on the type and quality of the site.
