Hey, if i have 500$ should I start doing server?
I want to create Network with Practice, HCF, Build (Creative) and Bunkers/Kohi SG.
My budget is 500$ (only for plugins, for machine and adversitement i have solo budget).
I want everything custom (or forked).

I don't understand why people have the urge to open 100 servers at a time.

1) if you've ever opened a server before you know how stressful it can be at times, now multiply that stress by how many ever servers you open.

2) You don't need 100% custom plugins. There are a lot of good free/premium plugins that will do exaty what you want them to do.

3) I can't stress this enough. DONT open multiple servers at once. Start with the game mode you like the most and would like to see succeed. If your player base grows then you open another server and do the same thing. That's how growth works. You may open with a lot of servers and somehow get a lot of players, but those players will leave because you won't have enough staff, or all servers could have having issues and due to lack of experience you won't know what to do, and a million other things.

4) If you're going to open a server and want to advertise, don't hire HCF related YouTubers. For some reason, these people believe that they get millions of views and charge way too much. Hire someone who likes to play minecraft and has a decent view base, they will likely do it for much less than these money hungry fucks.

Tldr; Yes, you can open a server with $500 if you're smart about it, and don't spend money on things you don't need.

Those are some of my past experiences. Do your research.

No, $500 is nowhere near enough to start a server with those gamemodes.

Hosting - $150~/m
DDoS protection: $100+/m
Builds: a fuck ton for custom ones
Website & Buycraft: $200+
Advertisement: $500+
HCF core: Varies
Practice core: Varies, all the public ones are garbage
Build: Not sure, I'm not into it
Bunkers: There are no good public plugins
Kohi SG: There are no good public plugins

You'd most likely be looking at $1300+ for the entire thing, you'd also have to put a lot of work and planning into it.

You don't exactly need a custom buycraft theme while he is staring off, and if he doesn't like the free templates buycraft provide, he could find a released one and touch it up a bit.

That ddos prot is also a bit excessive, for a new server, OVH will be able to handle that. It's not like they're gunna have Doxially or NullingOVH trying to randomly ddos their server, maybe a few skids which OVH will deal with. If it's a real issue I'm sure they could find something cheaper

Let's see a HQ server, like skylands have a very modern, minimalistic, powerful website. Let's see every other LQ shitty hcf un-original, full buggy hcf server, a leaked xenforo xenith theme.

See, I think we have a problem here. You have 500$ for a server, but you have to take in place two things;

Server itself. (Hosting, Website, Buycraft, DDOS Protection, Plugins, Core's... what everybody say is fairly accurate.)
Advertisement. (Youtubers, Youtubers, Youtubers.)

Your server costs are not even half of what the advertisement for the server is. Ok let's start off. You invest 300$ of 500$ in the server advertisement (which is not realistic, since theres so not much money left), the advertisement is great, you attract alot of traffic, but we have a problem. 1000 people come on the server first day, but as we only had 200$ for the server costs, the server is trash and unplayable.

That's what money you need.

Here's your answer, 500$ isn't enough for 5 different servers, you want every plugin custom isn't that logical?

I suggest getting a few good builds together before starting your server. Have an understanding of the plugins you're looking to add and hire a Developer. And a good one at that, a lot that I hired were garbage so I learned for myself.

with a budget of 500$ for plugins, hosting, AND advertisement.
You more than likely won't get a GOOD custom core for 500.
I recommend you save up around 2k, if not more.
Then go for it.
