Hello,

I just bought Premium today, and I have been advertising my things.

I was told by M6Gaming to wait 20 minutes to re-post the advertisement. I found this quite awkward, since I would like to get as much advertising in as possible. If there was a 20 minute timer, I would be able to know exactly what time I can advertise my links.

Thanks, Recension.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

I'll be collecting my Xenforo "Timer add-on" development fee now, please.

Not a timer like that, like when you try to type a link, it says something like

"13:28 till you may advertise again"

Use ReMouse, then set it up to automatically repeat (send the message) every 20 minutes. Not everything in life is easy.

There's no way for the forum to know if your message was intended as an ad or just a regular chat message.

Yeah, "setting-restrictions-on-links" suggestions have already plenty of times been denied.

I suggest that when you type a link into the text box, it alerts the user in red text under the box the last time they posted a link (Like a timer) in the shoutbox. This would prevent users from somehow missing the last time they posted an advertisement link, and also not restricting the allowance of posting other types of links.

But - Still allow the user to post that message. And of course the message could explain why it's warning the user.

What MTG said, it is against the rules to automate advertising.

I agree with the suggestions, but you should still be allowed to send the message. Otherwise, like someone said above, you may just be posting a normal link (like a c4 link if that's still popular), and not be able to since you just advertise.

The website won’t be able to know if you posted an advertisement or not.

This was something that we introduced on the Chat page for our Ultimate members but I'm not 100% sure if it works or is ever used by anyone, so in our migration to XF2 we likely won't be including this since it'd mean redeveloping it.

The way it works is that it tells you how long it's been since the last link you've sent, just to remind you.

I'll move this to accepted for now though I suppose, since we do have this implemented. Thanks for the suggestion
