People just didn't see the bug themselves as well as mcm is using a plugin created by someone else and would have to ask for permission from them to actually edit the Xenforo addon.
It's not hard to ask though.
You don't need permission to edit an add-on, in most scenarios anyway. Most add-on developers don't give two shits what you do with your copy of it, and in fact encourage modification of the add-on. Just don't claim it's 100% raw downloaded and it's likely support will be refused for it if modifications are harsh. Further updates will also not be too good with the modifications, so you probably want to create a new add-on to modify the add-on.
