mick got a bit wasted yesterday, and forgot his main source of income is running a minecraft marketplace

They were doing updates and manually added that down page to prevent people from getting on while it was under maintenance. They didn't originally think they were going to need to add the down page though, so there wasn't an announcement. (afaik, this is what I gathered from the suggestion)
