Hello, we are looking for developers to help work on an open source cross-platform application for creating Minecraft Skins.
Skinshop is meant to be Professional Minecraft Skin creation software, built for those who design skins as a hobby or a side hustle through commissions. It is meant to assist them, providing almost as much help you would get in graphic design using Photoshop when compared to Paint.NET. There seems to be a huge gap in the skin editor market where its mostly just web and mobile skin editors, creating an application would prove useful and more convenient when compared to websites.
We understand working on a project you may want something out of it, like payment. So we plan to implement a cloud storage solution for Skinshop users, so they can carry on their skin design without worrying about moving a file between devices. All earnings from the cloud solution would go into the core developers pockets, and funding the hosting of the cloud storage is nothing to worry about as Quirk Studios would pay for all the hosting needs of Skinshop. This means ALL earnings from Skinshop would be distributed among the developers.
Skinshop is one of the many Open Source Projects Quirk Studios is funding, to help develop the Minecraft Creative Community.
Now for more information on Skinshop. Skinshop is a cross-platform application, initially to work across Windows, MacOS, and Linux with plans to deploy on Apple and Android. Skinshop would be developed using Tauri and Svelte, and using Tailwind for styling.
(Planned)Features:
