"Skripts" Should be banned from the Plugins thread and here's why...

Hi, so I've recently been seeing an increase in so called "Skripts" coming into this thread. People claim that they're plugins when they're really not. They simply create a piece of code that hooks and depends on Skript otherwise it won't work. The worst part is for this simple form of coding, they're charging upwards of $30! into a existing plugin and requires it to work. A Plugin works for it's self and can hook into other plugins to enhance it's self.

Skripting in the end requires less effort and is less versatile than a plugin made in Java.
The thread is called Plugins and in my eyes, Skripts are just a "add-on" to an existing plugin that generally offer less than a plugin. Back to my starting point... I've seen may people be scammed as they think they're getting a plugin when they actually end up being disappointed and get a Skript. To combat this ban Skripts from the plugins thread or just create an independent Skripts part of the forum.

(If I've offended any "Skripters" in any way, I don't care... It's an opinion, deal with it everyone has one.)

There is nothing wrong with skript, sure they can be called plugins. I have ran into many circumstances where skript got the job done much better than java would have, and it was easier. All of you people that are saying skript is sooo easy well you can pm me and I'll give you some stuff that you can write in skript. Then when you fail you can tell me how easy it was.

Truest statement in this entire post. I was an original member in the skript community years ago... Most people still believe that skript is as simple as it was in the past. In my opinion, as a java and skript developer... You can do anything in skript that you can do in java's api for bukkit, especially if you write your own addons. I really have never understood some peoples issues with skript it's a good plugin and an awesome tool to create more depth on a lot of common servers. (Do you remember the old days where there was 5k faction server per original server idea, I do...)

TL;DR my opinion is you need to just sit back and let it happen, If you don't want to support it... Don't purchase the damn resource. It's as simple as that.

Let's try not to put Skript down please, It's truly an amazing/innovative addition to Minecraft. I would have never discovered that I have a passion for coding if it weren't for Skript.

You can make some remarkable things with Skript, don't get me wrong! I've created a fully functional Yu-Gi-Oh server using Skript! I've always wanted to make it, and wouldn't currently be able to without this amazing plugin!

You can say that Skripters should get paid less because "it's so much easy to learn compared to Java", but at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter if it's coded with Skript or Java. If it works, then the buyer should be satisfied.

Skripts might not be as efficient as Java code, but it's not like it's going to KILL your server's TPS, unless it's poorly developed, BUT the same goes with Java. It depends on who's handling the code.

Don't see why this is such a big problem? Just leave it in the plugin section and make them specify if its a plugin or skript..

It's a problem because Skripts are NOT plugins. It's the same as selling a Netflix account in the Minecraft builds category.

No it's not. A netflix account cannot be put on your server, while a skript can. Skripts have nearly the same function as plugins. The only people that give any hate to skript are the people that know java because they think they are superior for some reason.

By itself it cannot. Attempting apply a Skript to your server without using the actual Skript plugin would be the same as attempting to apply a netflix account to your server. Essentially, ridiculous.
