I am looking for some advice for what gamemode I should have.

Prison or Skyblock

I personally prefer prison as i think it is much more fun and their can be lots of options you can add.

Both game modes are fairly popular at the moment. But if you do either you will need to make your server stand out and not just be a copy of another server. Many of the larger prison and skyblock servers have put thousands of dollars into development and advertisements to be where they are currently.

Skyblock is more popular but to compete against some servers you need to have unique ideas and not like every other server out there.

You could look into SkyBlockEarth I heard it is pretty decent and gets updated almost daily.
