Skype Desktop keeps crashing

So I have an Alienware X51 desktop PC. I recently encountered this problem where anytime I start Skype up my computer freezes and I'm forced to hard restart it. Please help.

What I've already tried:
- Re-installing Skype
-Wiping the Skype directory and reinstalling it
- Killing the program as a startup

Finally someone with the same issue as me lol mine takes sometimes up to 7 tries before mine will fully load and not crash

does skype crash your your computer freezes?

hmmm could be your computer itself

when you open skype go to task manager and set skype.exe high priority[DOUBLEPOST=1466562032][/DOUBLEPOST]
either that your skype is not updated

Neither of those work, I have tried. As Avster and I have literally the same issue lol

Or skype is just buggy and laggy itself.
