I will be talking about a new scamming technique that is being used and how you can avoid it, I'm not totally sure if there has been a thread already created that is relevant to this topic. If there is then....well rip...just know that I didn't know and I put effort into this thread. So I'd appreciate it if you show'd this thread some love. My only purpose to creating this thread was to help new users or any user that is about this type of scam. Please share this thread to those who are vulnerable or easily fooled like these things. It can help them...

So lately there has been a trend of scamming going on in the MCMarket, whether it be 'Exit Scamming' or just scamming in general, there is no doubt that it hasn't been stopped and really you can't stop something like this, it's something that is inevitable in the real world or internet world. HOWEVER, it can be avoided...
I want to bring about a new way of scamming...or atleast this is the first I've seen this way come about. I don't really know the exact phrase for what you call this type of scamming, but for now lets just call it the 'Imposter Scammer' and what this Imposter Scammer does is he/she takes on the appearence of a user who is well-known and trusted in a community and will use that to the advantage of scamming you by making it look like it is the person who they say they are, but really...they're not. This has already happened to me two times in a span of a week and it seems that I'm not alone in this. I've already seen some users who have been scammed by an Imposter and it seems like this is mainly a trend in Skype.
So I want to give some tips on how you can make sure you're not getting scammed by an imposter/how to tell if you are getting scammed by an imposter!
TIPS TO AVOID THE IMPOSTER SCAMMER:
They don't want you to succeed! Major key lol.
Ok, so I hope you, who reads this, grasps some knowledge on this current trending scam. Be extra careful when dealing w/ users thru skype, no matter who it is!

- Always check the user's profile! An imposter will try their best to make his/her profile like convincing and you need to always make sure that the user has the correct skype username as who they say they are.
- The user may have a skype username like "- --mcm" something that reads that its relevant to MCM, and while it'll seem like the person is legit, some imposters do setup the usernames w/ 'mcm' attached to make it more believeable, as you can see in this screenshot, the scammer is posing as Coopxr and has the word 'mcm' attached to his name to make it more believeable, this is not the real Coopxr 's skype
- Another way to tell is by the amount of contacts the skype account has...now this way is not always the way to go by, but it def. is a way to tell if it a scammer, because the imposter will normally make a new skype and when they make a new skype, they most likely will not have any to barely contacts added. (Again this is not always a reliable way)

- 'Another one' -Dj Khaled way of telling if the person is an imposter is by making sure they have the correct username! I think this is the best way of really making sure the person is authentic and the one and only true person. You can always PM the person you're supposedly dealing w/ thru here and make sure you're actually talking to them. Don't be scared to ask them, afterall you're the one who is actually wanting to deal.
