It doesn't look like it. It seems he tried to phish passwords with some fake pmc site which isn't even creative. If I was going to do it I would setup sockets that log his servers activity and wait until he messages someone his login information. I would also create a swing client so that I could stalk the server 24/7 and execute commands from the console which I guess is basically creating a remote console. This is theoretical of course...

A smart server administrator would block IO via all ports except the required ones (25565, 80 maybe), and I don't think opening sockets could "log" his activity. Swing would be a waste of time, CLI all the way .

EDIT: What I would do is compile a backdoored version of OpenSSH and overwrite the currently used binary. It's sad how many people run servers as root...
