I have an idea, and I'm wondering if there would be a market for this type of system.

Freelancer Professional Portfolio Website and Business Management Software

Features

+Portfolio Website

  • Features a header with a customizable background image/color, a center title with a small tag line underneath, 0,1, or 2 call to action buttons, and a navigation bar.
  • Features an about section with an editable paragraph, name, images, social links, etc.
  • Features SmartFolio, a portfolio system that automatically populates and formats your portfolio using information from projects that you complete. This will display an image of the project in a gird style layout in the portfolio section. Upon hovering over an image on the portfolio the image will be darkened significantly and will be overlaid with the project title, the project cost, the project timeframe, and the client testimonials.
  • Below the contact section is the contact form. This system will be explained later.

The main goal with the portfolio page is to make it automated and easy to use and edit, with lots of customization options.

+The Ticket System

The ticket system is designed to allow the freelancer and the client to

communicate and to clearly display all of the information the freelancer needs to complete the project.

  • When the client submits a response to the contact form, a popup will appear with a prompt on it, asking the user to create a temporary account. The temporary account will be created when the user enters a password that they create into the text box and clicking "confirm submission" The temporary account will be used by the user to communicate through the user-panel to the freelancer. This account will be deleted from the database whenever the project is closed.
  • When a ticket is opened the freelancer and the client discuss the project a bit. When they are done if both parties still intend to work on the project, the freelancer will click the "Create Project" button. This will open a popup asking the developer for a quote and a timeframe. This will then send a popup to the client giving them the option to accept the quote and timeframe, request changes, or cancel the order. When the client accepts the quote, it will ask them for 50% upfront payment. Once the 50% payment is paid, it will create a project with the name of the project entered by the client on the contact form.

When the client first opens the project page it will ask them to upload or link some examples of what they want, and it will ask them to provide and logos, backgrounds, images, or graphics that they want used on the site.

When the freelancer completes the project, they will click the "Propose completion" this will open a popup where the freelancer can upload any files needed.

This will send a popup to the client asking them to either accept the finished product, or request changes. If they choose to accept, they will be prompted to pay the remaining 50% of the quote. Once payment is complete the project will be set to closed status and the client will be emailed a download link for the file.

The client will be asked to leave a review when the project closes. The freelancer will be asked to choose a cover image. A new item will be added to the portfolio section of the website using the project title, timeframe, budget, client review (if provided) and the freelancers chosen cover info.

+Freelancer Admin Panel

When the freelancer enters the admin panel they will have the access to tweak the websites various functionality and design. They will also have access to the project panel and the business panel.

The project panel will include the project pages of all of the currently open projects.

The business panel will track sales, creating a searchable table consisting of the important information (title, client name, cost, timeframe, a file download of the finished product) of every project that is closed with completion. The business panel will also allow you to track how much money you've made, how many projects you've completed. Features or information may be added as I work out more details.

So thats the jist of my idea. Id love to hear your thoughts and opinions on it :)
