What is so expensive about a sniper? Thousands of dollars can be made off sniping these names and selling them. Although, the number of og names that change will decrease in years to come.
The code? If someone knew the code, they wouldn't reveal how.
Where exactly does the money go? Most likely to buying GC and for their own goods.
Also did smkm code his own sniper? I do not believe he did. However, he could've taken part. The credit is not all his because CrypticError definitely did some coding.
Is it confusing code? Wish I knew man.

Basic economics and the law of scarcity. There are a finite number of [Censored]names, (they are unique - there is only one user named 'Jack') so people are willing to pay a lot of money to snipe a specific username.

I made the first sniper (April 2015), with MC-S following shortly behind. When I started it was just a standalone script sending web requests to the Mojang API. There was a lot of time put into developing and perfecting it, but I wasn't charging much per snipe (initially I was doing it for free to get my program working). Due to such a high demand and some really toxic users (Skill/Blaze et al.) it became very stressful and I stopped my service.
I looked into sniping sometime after that and Mojang had changed their API so you couldn't know if you had sniped too early or sniped too late. Once I realized that I made no further attempts to get into sniping. Now, from what Lyphiard posted, it seems "sniping" is just DDoSing Mojang's API until the username glitches, and claiming it on the glitched account.
