Hello all,

Today, my transfer on 'relax' was taken by a giftcode sniper. Before anyone asks, yes, I did notify Nagi, Chearful, Ninja1, and Lyphiard. I strongly advise against transfers until one of MisfitNerd's or Doge's goes through (assuming they will go through with it).

From what I can tell, he means he tried to move his ign to another account, and a gift code sniper sniped the name instead.

Not exactly, it is expected that transfers should go through with the two snipers, as MisfitNerd did that with the Nerd transfer, I don't think that this has ever happened to anybody before.

Ok. 1) I buy the IGN "relax" a while back. 2) I decide to test a transfer snipe (where you change the name on an account and snipe the name with another account) with it, so I book it on both snipers. Neither sniped detected any sort of fowl play (security questions or passwords changed), which means that the snipe was valid. 3) During the drop, somebody with a giftcode sniper sniped the name, and I do not have access to the account.

Something that uses a minecraft giftcode instead of an account so that the account has no name history.

Wow man, that sucks. Sorry to hear that happened to you. Why can't you just contact Mojang to have them do a name change for you with both accounts being owned?

Because, technically, buying/selling accounts isn't allowed by Mojang.
