So I was perm-banned on Hypixel :(

I had this awesome account with legend on Mineplex and VIP on Hypixel.

And one day I was like hey lets play around with scraping usernames on servers (for educational purposes of course). And so I was using .scrape and a few days later I log on and realize I am banned for "scrapping players usernames".

I tried to appeal, and contacted their support as well, but nope. They are hardheaded and harsh on their punishments.

The only thing I can do now is coin the term "HarshPixel".

Oh and if anyone knows a mod on Hypixel please let me know.

What I did was I made a program that logged in some public account and joined each server 5 times (since you go in a random lobby). Then I grabbed the names from the tab list and stored them in a list. You end up with a decent list of a couple thousand unique names.

I did something similar. I made my scraper in Forge, listening to ClientChatReceivedEvent since that was the only event that seemed to work. I knew it was detectable, but I didn't care/think anyone would be looking at the console.

Yeah. So one of their rules prohibits swearing which I had been muted plenty of times for. Anyway, I saw a helper swear, took a screenshot, called him out on it, went to the forums and made a huge post about the discrimination and why that Helper should be fairly muted / banned.

You shouldn't have sent the packet lol. You could have just checked if the message was '.scrape' and cancel the packet from being sent.

Yeah that event is called after the server receives the packet. You should have just wrote an external program, or used MCP directly instead of Forge.

Why would you even scrape ? Trying to crack accounts ?.. I'mma assume yes. Why didn't you just do it with a alt since i assume you must have some.

Anyways the punishment isn't harsh since you were trying to scrape their players accounts..

I never would have a chance at cracking them anyway. I was just playing around, and If it did happen I cracked one, I would not have taken it.
