Considering that you probably have below 50ms to Canada it won't change anything because everything below 50ms is absolutely unnoticeable in Minecraft. Also having your Proxy in Texas but the servers in Canada (?) it will not really change a lot.

You realize that I'm doing this for other people, not just me? Are you sure that you are connecting to Canada? I have 90ms to Canada from Germany.
Where are the servers (Lobby etc) located?
(If you are not American, players won't really notice any difference between Canada & Texas, telling a difference between Canada and Germany is already hard, and I'm talking from experience. It's probably more like that your players are thinking that they are better in PvP with 5ms less.)
