Hey there.

I am Purity, a new member to the Minecraft Market community.
I am looking to open up a shop on Hand Drawn Graphics, I know quite a bit,
but I don't know where to start. I am looking for someone to maybe
give me some tips on where to start.

Regards,
Purity

Hey.
What areas do you specialise in?
This is not a services thread, not trying to be rude. :) I am asking people for some help to get started on MCM.

I know,
I'm just interested. This can also help me find a way to get you started
Oh, I am pretty good at drawing 3d text on paper, and I have learned how to draw Minecraft characters decently. But, I am not able to scan them to the computer, should I just take a picture?

Drawn is on paper and upload it to photoshop. OR draw it on the computer
What do you mean "upload it to photoshop"?[DOUBLEPOST=1507235938][/DOUBLEPOST]
You need to first:

get a drawing tablet. This is key to becoming successful as a hand drawn illustrator.
Would you recommend any specific one?

Honestly, just keep practicing. Do what you're good at and always keep trying new things. Look at references for poses/ideas to help you along. But don't trace! If you really want to get into drawing digitally you can always invest in a drawing tablet, they're around 70$/90$ depending on the one you choose. Wacom is the best brand! If you do go this way, I use the program FireAlpaca to draw on, it's free and easy to use. If you prefer paper, just keep trying new mediums. Crayons, markers, pencials, chalk. Find something you love. Always make sure you're enjoying it, if you get upset you're trying too hard. Just flow with whatever you're drawing, if you think you mess up- you didn't. Just make it into something else. Good luck!

P.S. not everything you draw will be perfect, so keep at it! <3

Practice, practice and practice. At first, do the drawings on paper, and either take a photo or scan them to get them onto your computer. From there, start using programs like photoshop or MediBang to make them digital. Again, use tutorials online to fins advice on how to do this, as it is not a simple process. But mainly, just experiment and practice a lot.

First, you have to make a name here on mcm, the way that works is called reputation. You can give out vouches for experience as well as high reputation.

<-- That's reputation. Then, when you make up a portfolio of your past work, you can make a thread or a thread design. Then, just wait for the customers to come rolling in.

All really good advice.

The key to getting into creative fields is making a portfolio. If you're trying to be apart of a game design company, you don't go to them and just say "take a chance on me". You present them with mods and projects you have created. The same is for design. Go practice and create until you can produce something you're proud of, then make some more. Exhibiting your skills is the key to finding customers.

As for equipment, you don't NEED a drawing tablet, there are people who can make amazing stuff with a mouse, but that's definitely a minority. Whether or not that's because drawing on tablets is easier or they were targeted by the Wacom marketing gospel only god knows.

Just go and make stuff until you are comfortable people would buy your work.
